Theatre Project: Footlights is a youth community theatre experience for
9-18 yr olds. Don't miss out on this opportunity. If you have an
interest in learning or improving your theatre skills and production
techniques, this is the place for you! Every student gets a part.

It’s a fine life! Join the The Theatre Project for an exciting new experience.
The Fall production is Oliver! and there is a twist. This season we have the
largest list of adult theatre experts to lead you through this outstanding
musical, Oliver! And the twist you ask, these adults will not only play the
adult roles in the show but they will also instruct classes in acting, dance,
improve and vocals. And parents, do you have a desire to grace the MHBA stage.
We have opportunities for the parents to become part of the adult ensemble.
Oliver! will truly become a community theatre project! So consider yourself at
home. Consider yourself part of the family! Consider yourself one of us!
Students and parents may register now. Registration for Cobb County residents
(for the students only) is $150 with an additional $50 refundable attendance
fee. Adults do need to register with the arts center but a fee is not involved.
The family meeting and auditions for the students only are August 31 from 6 – 9
pm. Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Sundays. Performance dates are November 5, 6 and
7 at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre.
Oliver! is a great musical that includes many ages. The roles for the TTP
students include but are not limited to;
Oliver: a sweet and innocent workhouse boy
The Artful Dodger: A troubled youth
Bet: Nancy’s loyal friend
Noah Claypole: a tall bully who is Mr. Sowerberry’s apprentice
Charlotte: Mr. Sowerberry’s Daughter
There are many solo lines and other speaking roles. All youth will be included
in the opening and closing numbers of Food, Glorious Food and Oliver!
