Earth, Women, and Fire - A Pottery Exhibition
Thursday, February 06, 2025, 09:00am - 05:00pm
Location : Mable House Arts Center
:

EarthWomen, and Fire highlights the powerful intersection of natural elements, gender, and artistry. We seek works that not only showcase the technical skill of pottery-making but also embody the spirit of toughness, resilience, and endurance—traits that mirror the women who shape, fire, and perfect their creations. Each piece reflects the artist’s journey, strength, and connection to the material and the craft.

EarthWomen, and Fire honors the many women who have shaped the field of ceramics—using raw earth, transformative fire, and their own strength to create works that last. This show aims to shine a spotlight on the essential contributions of women in the ceramics industry and celebrates the power of creation, resilience, and the lasting beauty of handmade pottery. Through this exhibition, we seek to showcase the depth of craftsmanship and creativity that stems from women who continue to break boundaries, redefine norms, and build legacies in the world of ceramics.

This ceramics exhibition celebrates the strength, resilience, and creativity of the women in our ceramics community. This show features pottery created by female Mable House Arts Center artists that embody the themes of earthwomen, and fire—representing the process of crafting pottery from the earth’s clay, shaped by the hands of women, and fired to create lasting, resilient works of art.

You are welcomed to stop by the Mable House Arts Center to view these works.
