Come sing, dance and play music! Through fun themes, songs, instrument exploration, movement games and manipulatives, children will experience a variety of musical styles, instruments, songs languages and more! We will learn music history, instrument identification, musical concepts and beginner notation (pitch/rhythm/terminology, etc.). Themes rotate every few weeks, each with a new musical focus: 

Winter Wonderland:  1930's & 1940's Jazz Standards, Piano/Xylophone/Bells, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, etc.

I Love Music: 1950's Rock-n-Roll, 1960's Motown, electric guitar/drums, Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, etc.

Go Green: Irish music ,Celtic harp/Celtic flute/Bagpipes/Irish fiddle, plus recycling and "being green"

Out of this World: Solar System, Brass: Trumpet/French Horn/Trombone/Tuba, John Williams' music (Star Wars/E.T.), 80's songs about space

Spring Fling: Woodwinds: Flute/Clarinet/Saxophone plus Native American flute music about birds, bugs, bees and all things Spring 

Carnival of the Animals: Classical music featuring A Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, Carnival of the Animals, and Peter and the Wolf  

Fun on the Farm: Bluegrass/Appalachian folk music, Banjo/Guitar/Fiddle and homemade folk instruments like the washboard & spoons

My Musical Passport: Multicultural music and children/languages/instruments from around the world
